Teaching at Canyon Elementary School
The Experience
As soon as I walked into Mrs. Beatty's 2nd grade class, I was warmly greeted by a group of kids that would become my friends as quick as they became my students. Being the ripe 'ole age of 7-8 years old, they all looked at me, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to learn. Even as welcoming as the meeting was, I was super grateful for my two observation days I had before that. I feel I have a lot to learn from the teacher I am shadowing, Mrs. Beatty, and it will be a pleasure to learn much more from her!

Cassy,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that you are enjoying your teaching placement. Your pictures are adorable and your children seem very welcoming. I thought this was a great first lesson and I can't wait to see more. I think every student teacher struggles with some classroom management issues. Most teachers have little words or phrases that help calm down a rowdy class and so asking Mrs. Beatty about that might help.
